Why join SBCN?

Group certification is a way for more than one business to be certified under a single FSC certificate. The certificate is held by one organization or person on behalf of the entire group.

SBCN FAQs

1 | Who qualifies for FSC group certification?

If your U.S. business conducts less than $10 million in gross annual forest product sales –or– has less than 25 employees, you can apply to be an SBCN member.

Not in the U.S.? Contact the CoC Group Network.

2 | How does group certification work?

1

If your business qualifies, you apply for membership. Once accepted and internally reviewed, you obtain FSC certification under the group certificate.

2

The group manager manages the group and provides oversight during annual reviews for each member.

3

Certification bodies audit a sample of the group each year to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

3 | How much does group certification cost?

Group certification is the best option for smaller companies because it’s designed to help reduce the overall costs of certification.

Each group member’s cost is significantly lower than if each member applied for an individual certificate. Depending on the scope of certification needed, group certification prices start at $2,595 for qualified organizations.
